It's Intern season here at Holland! We're welcoming some fresh faces around our Crete and University Park facilities. Meet Christopher Collins who is spending the summer working with our Holland Equipment Business Unit. We interviewed Christopher to tell us a little more about his day to day activities and what brought him to Holland.

  • Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am entering my Senior year at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, where I am a Mechanical Engineering major. I like to eat and try new restaurants. I love to play and watch basketball.

  •  Why did you choose Holland to apply for an internship?

I chose Holland to apply for an internship because I was looking for real world experience in the engineering field and Holland could give me a chance to learn new things. Holland was a company I found out about through my church and I was told great things about the company.

  • Walk us through an average day of your internship.

During the internship, I will typically start my day looking at old files and seeing what I can update. I will also head out to the shop occasionally to take measurements of Holland Mobile Welders, so that I am able to make accurate updates. Currently I have been working on a project, along with Zach, and we have been designing and plan to produce a clamp for use by Holland. We also have meetings where other projects are discussed, as well as feedback for the Clamp project.
