November 18, 2024

Holland is proud to announced it was awarded a Bronze Medal sustainability rating from EcoVadis— a third-party environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) assessor. This is Holland’s second Bronze Medal and a key indicator of the company’s commitment to partnering with others in the rail industry to advance sustainability initiatives.

“Our second Bronze rating from EcoVadis reflects the progress we continue to make around sustainability,” said Marketing Director and Green Team member Tiffany Wenrich. Critical milestones for Holland include completing a greenhouse gas inventory of its fleet of nearly 200 MobileWelders and other support vehicles. “Leveraging the technology we already have has been key,” said Director of Safety Matthew Santucci. “The same software we use to help improve our drivers’ safety and compliance also benefits us by tracking emissions for each unit we operate.” Wenrich noted similarly, “Technology we’ve developed with industry partners like HAMR frog refurbishment and Short Plug welding have significant inherent sustainability advantages by allowing less rail to be used.”

Bronze Medals are awarded to the Top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date. EcoVadis assesses companies in four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The criteria for each EcoVadis category are updated regularly to reflect increasing expectations for corporate sustainability.
